Superintendent of Schools

Dear Westwood Families,

Thank you for choosing Westwood Community School District for your children’s education. The 2026–2027 school year promises to be full of growth both in and out of the classroom as our students continue to unleash their full potential. Following extensive strategic planning with the Westwood Board of Education and collaborative team-building with our dedicated staff, we are energized and ready to welcome our learners back into our buildings.

I am most looking forward to continuing to cultivate the strong, supportive community we have built together. Thanks to the ongoing dedication of our Dearborn Heights and Inkster communities following our historic bond passage, infrastructure improvements across the district continue to move forward. These updates are actively transforming our facilities, including Daly Elementary, Thorne Primary, and Robichaud High School, into modern, safe, and dynamic learning environments that elevate Westwood as an ascending district. I look forward to sharing additional facility milestones with you as projects progress throughout the year.

We remain fully committed to delivering high-quality programming that prepares our students to lead and succeed post-graduation. The cornerstone of that success is our educators. At Westwood, we are fortunate to have a team of passionate teachers and staff members who give their all to inspire, support, and guide our students every day.

Thank you again for entrusting us with your children's educational journey. I look forward to seeing you at school activities, athletic events, and across the neighborhood during the 2026–2027 school year.

Educationally yours,

Dr. Stiles Simmons
